Saving heritage

After renovating our first palace, Madri Haveli, we embarked on our next restoration project: Baxi House, a 200-year-old property.

Originally, it was the residence of the accountants of the Maharana of Udaipur. Built on the heights of the old city, it took us seven years to restore this historic building to its former glory.

We chose a style that blends comfort and authenticity, with a particular focus on working with the local stone.

The rear section was restored identically, using the same materials as the original construction and preserving the building’s structure.

The front section, however, had to be demolished due to its condition, but we maintained the original proportions and added a modern touch.
